According to the packet, we'd be ready to eat within 15 minutes. From box to plate, it was closer to 30 minutes by the time he'd warmed the tacos, cooked the beef mince with the seasoning and carefully spooned it into the taco shells. Oh, and by the way, this is not including the 5-10 minutes it took him to read the instructions!
How did it taste? The beef seasoning was great. Really smoky and rich. The tomato salsa was also really good, it didn't have that metallic preservative taste you often get with those jarred and packet salsas. I'll be honest though, a taco without the extras is a sad little taco and we ended up jazzing ours up with sour cream, cheese, coriander, guacamole and of course - jalapeños.
Although by the time we'd finished, they were truly magnificent, I would have felt a bit depressed eating a dry taco of just meat & tomato salsa as per the box instructions. At £3 (and right now, buy one get one free) this worked out cheaper than buying the taco shells, seasoning and salsa individually. As is often the case with these things, it was advertised for 4 people but we scoffed it comfortably between two.
Verdict?Pretty good flavour combo and really easy to put together BUT we added lots of ingredients to compete the dish. Would we buy again? Yes, because tacos are fun. // Did Dave wash up after? No. Sad face.
*We paid for the Taco Kit and I wrote this review because I wanted to. M&S were not involved and all opinions are my own. I HEART TACOS*
