Review: Tuk Tuck, Bristol

We recently discovered Tuk Tuck, a small cafe on our walk into town from home. We'd passed it a few times but it wasn't until I spotted the handwritten chalk board saying Korean style sushi - made daily that we stopped to look.

New Flavour Combinations For Kale Crisps

Unlike everyone else in the world I only recently discovered kale crisps. But now I have, I can't stop eating them! I've been experimenting with them over the last few weeks using the various spices and seeds I have in my cupboards and have come up with a few flavour combos you might not have tried but definitely should!

Review: Thyme, Spinney Hill Park, Leicester

Thyme is a small family run Mediterranean restaurant which opened in my home city of Leicester earlier this year. The really interesting thing about it is it's unusual home - in a pavilion right in the centre of Evington’s Spinney Hill Park! This is a re-write of a review I originally wrote for Leicester Mercury's More Magazine. Thyme was such a hidden gem that I just had to share it again today!

Gennaro's Easy Pancetta Pasta with Peas

My love of Italian food is well documented on this blog. As a family we holiday in Tuscany regularly and my mum and step-dad love it so much, they are planning to  retire there in a few years time. I love the simplicity of good, real Italian food - sometimes if feels like literally two or three ingredients can come together to form the most perfect meal.

Review: Pizzarova, Gloucester Road, Bristol

A few weeks ago we headed down Gloucester Road for a free pizza party at Pizzarova to celebrate the launch of their first restaurant. Free pizza you say???? Hell to the yes.

Review: Jamie's Italian, Bristol

I've spent a lot of my time voicing my opinion on the big chains and how we should always support independents - so much so, that I even wrote an article on it for the Leicester Mercury (see it here). With this in mind, you're probably surprised to see this post  - a review on Jamie's Italian on Bristol's Park Street. To be honest, I'm surprised to see this post.

The British Hamper Company Review & Giveaway!

There's something alluring about a hamper through the post full of special treats - biscuits and nibbles just that little bit posher than you could justify buying for yourself. And you know how much I love my snacks. Luxurious treats for a lazy afternoon, an evening in with a DVD or a picnic! Love them.

The British Hamper Company create luxury hampers filled with food and drink items from artisanal British producers. Themes are plentiful - from a day at the races to halloween, afternoon tea and of course Christmas. Content wise, there is lots to choose from too; wine, chocolate, savoury items and sweets. I was sent one of their tuck box hampers full of snacks to review, here's what I thought of it.

They've also kindly given me a hamper worth £45 to give away to one lucky winner!
