Review: The Plumed Serpent, Bristol

Yum
I really have to learn to speed up my reviews. Probably a month ago now, we had dinner at The Plumed Serpent Cantina during their pop up at Matilda's Chilli Bar just near the Bear Pit in Bristol. It was excellent. Don't go and book a table – the pop up is finished (missed that boat didn't I?). However, do not fear – they are in residency at the Hillgrove pub just up from Stokes Croft for at least another 3 weeks... yippee!

Dining Restyling with Dunelm

Yum
Last month I headed over to Dunelm with one goal in mind - to get some new items for my dining table. You may remember from blog posts over the last few years that I had the same spotty table cloth seemingly forever, and then since I threw it away, just bare wood. It's definitely time for a change.

I've known and loved Dunelm for a long time, being a Midlands company and me being a Midlands girl, it's somewhere Ive always visited before Christmas for gift shopping and every time I've moved house.  They have stores all over the country now, packed with home wares, and importantly for me, a big new one in Bristol! So when they asked me if I'd like to go and do a shop there, of course I jumped at the chance.

Review: Phillips Air Fryer Chippy Tea

Yum
This isn't a sponsored post - at least not sponsored by Phillips. They haven't sent me an Air fryer (sadly). You could say this post is sponsored by my mum. Without fail, for the last three or four visits to her house, she's texted me the day before to say we're having chippy tea. Not chip shop chips, Air fryer chips. I think she's a genuine ambassador and I have to say, now, so am I.

Review: Sunday Lunch at The Galli, Gloucester Road, Bristol

Yum
Before I moved to Bristol, back in May, I spent a lot of time trawling social media to find all the best places to eat at once I'd arrived. The Gallimaufry on Gloucester Road was right at the top of my list of places to try with its gorgeous looking food, high trip advisor scores and live bands on almost every night. It’s a restaurant, a bar, a music venue, arts space and all round champion for everything local. Tick boxes all round.

Farndon Fields Farm Shop, Market Harborough

Yum
It's been ages since I last went to Fardon Fields Farm Shop in Market Harborough, a place I used to love visiting when I worked near by (old blog post here). My colleagues and I would pop in on our lunch breaks to shop and eat. These days I'm a bit further afield but at the moment, I'm doing some freelance work nearby so last week I used it as an opportunity to go in and take a look around.

Stress free BBQ side dishes

Yum
Who doesn't love a BBQ? As you may have seen on instagram and possibly even on my new periscope account last week, we just had a mid-week BBQ. My friend Patrick came to stay for a few days and the weather was due to be nice so we thought why not?

Sound Bites: Food As Art // Sabrina Shirazi

Yum
Last Friday I had coffee with Sabrina Shirazi, an artist in Bristol who is currently the Food and Technology Resident at the Pervasive Media Studio, a community of creatives, technologists and academics exploring experience design and creative technology at the Watershed. Intrigued by her work, last night I attended her showcase in the At-Bristol Science Centre where she paired tastes to sounds.

Tourist Lunching in Bath: Sally Lunn's Buns

Yum
I love Bath - it's such a pretty place, steeped in history and full of gorgeous shops!

I spent a long weekend there a few years ago for a hen do - a trip to the rooftop thermae spa, comfy beds in a glorious old Georgian townhouse and endless cocktails, everything a girls weekend should be! That was all I really knew about Bath (other than school book Roman history) but now I live so close, I am beginning to discover more about it.
