My November Discoveries

Yum
How has another month gone by? It feels like I only just posted my October Discoveries and now, here we are staring December in the face. We've been in Melbourne for over a month now and I've discovered so many amazing things and places. Far too many to list here so I've some how managed to cut it down to just five!

Day Tripping: Rottnest Island, Western Australia

Yum
Last month we spent three weeks in Western Australia. One of my favourite things we did was visit the beautiful island of Rottnest, around 30 minutes ferry ride away from Perth. A peaceful place full of happy holiday makers, quokkas and breathtaking scenery.

Pork & Tofu Kimchi Jjigae (돼지김치찌개)

Yum
It's well documented that I love Korean food, I even talked about it in my last blog post about the best  Asian food around Melbourne. One of the dishes I raved about was Kimchi Jjigae – a Korean stew often made with pork or seafood. It's a little bit spicy, nice and filling – the perfect winter warmer!

My Top Picks For Asian Food In Melbourne

Yum
We've been in Melbourne for a little over two weeks. In that time we've pretty much lived on Asian food. Korean fried chicken, Japanese ramen and Chinese dumplings to name but a few. To be honest, it's so bloody good, I see no reason for this to change!

Review: Anna Cake Couture: Clifton, Bristol.

Yum
You know I don't have a sweet tooth? Well I kind of do now… especially when it comes to this place.

If you read my blog often you'll know that after moving out of our flat and before we set off on our travels (currently in Melbourne, Oz) we were dog sitting up in Stoke Bishop which for those of you who don't know Bristol well, is right at the top near Clifton Downs.

Sound Bites: The Greyhound, Botcheston

Yum
I'm a sucker for a good story and even more so when it involves food. I think this is just that. The Greyhound at Botcheston in North West Leicestershire has never really been much more than a local boozer but it looks as though things are on the up with a new team of Simons at the helm. Yes really… two Simons.

24 hours in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Yum
Thinking back on my foodie experiences through holidays and the places I've visited, there's one city which always springs to mind: Buenos Aires, Argentina. It's been a while since I was there but that time has always stayed with me, probably because it's the place which made me a foodie and lead me down the path I'm on today.

I flew out there to meet one of my best friends at the time. She'd been travelling around South America and I joined her for the last stretch of her trip. Sadly we're no longer in touch but I have some incredible memories. We had the most amazing time and I absolutely fell in love with Argentina.

Only got 24 hours? Here's what you should do:

Review: Little Creatures, Fremantle, Western Australia

Yum
The craft beer trend is huge in the UK at the moment and despite predictions at the start of the year,  it doesn't look like it'll be slowing down anytime soon. I really enjoy wheat beers, white ales and the American style IPA (with Beavertown Gamma Ray right at the top of my list incase you're interested) so for me, this is no bad thing.
